When we hear the word ĀRAIŠI, we already imagine a magnificent cultural landscape that has been shaped by three factors - nature, human beings and time - working together over a long period of time.
At its centre is a lake depression, flanked by the broad, sloping hillsides of the surrounding hills. Here, rows of ancient oaks and larch trees, witnesses of former prosperity and luxury, form long avenues along the sides of winding roads. Their enormous steepness surrounds the road, which leads from a white, fine manor house to a white mill at the top of the hill, from where the enchanted observer can see the outline of Karātavu Hill, clusters of farmsteads, an old church on the lakeside, but as the view goes further, he sees a very ancient home - a lake, with the medieval castle ruins next to it on a hill surrounded by a lake.
