"Dod ķepu" hyskies

Our story began with our first dog, a Siberian Husky named Rendu. Since childhood, we have watched and cried at the movie "Snow Leopard" "Hachiko" and sympathised with other dog movies, but never did we both think that we would be husky owners. Nikolai found Renda on a classifieds site. Her first owner could no longer take care of her and was ready to give her away to anyone. That's how Renda, an almost one year old Siberian Husky girl, joined our family on 18 October 2015. 
Dodkepu.lv is a sled dog sports club created with the aim to promote sled dog sports in Latvia and healthy recreation with a dog. The club is currently training athletes and dogs.

Dodkepu.lv in cooperation with the Cecīļi Nature Trail in Ieriķi offers an exciting ~4 km or ~10 km hiking/training activity with active huskies.
"HASKEEPING WITH HASKIES AT DODKEPU.LV HILL"- Picnic site available and a chance to meet all 27 huskies and hike in the picturesque surroundings of Āraiši.

We offer winter sleigh rides through snowy meadows and forests. This is not a film, but a reality in Latvia! You can drive the dog sled yourself or ride as a passenger in the sleigh. You can apply for individual, family or group rides.

Sled dog sport:

"Kanikross" - Running with your dog, with your dog pulling you. During the run, the athlete's hands will be free as the dog's lead will be clipped to a special harness.
"Baijoring"- If you still want to slip a little or, on the contrary, feel a lot of speed, try this one!   Baijoring is the fastest of the sled dog sports. So it's up to you to brake or pedal fast.

"Scooter - Often called a scooter or pedal bike, one or two dogs pull the scooter. You can enjoy being pulled freely by the huskies, and pick up the pace if necessary by springing off with one of your legs. Recommended for those who like to be in control.

Sledging - a sport in which you and two or more dogs go sledging together, with the dogs in their equipment.  Distances vary from 5km to a challenging 1500km.
