Officially founded in 2006, the ensemble actively performs, participates in and hosts Latvian annual festivals and family celebrations.
"At various times during its existence, Orē has consisted of six to twelve members. The members both sing and play various musical instruments - violin, bass, ermonica, drums, kokle, zither, etc. The repertoire mostly includes songs written down in the historical district of Cesis, collected in the 1930s by folklorist Voldemārs Stelbergs.
The members of "Ores" make their own instruments, costumes and other props - the collective includes a master of musical instruments Andris Roze, who makes kokles, basses, guitars, weavers, a leatherworker who makes pastalas and old boots.
The ensemble participates in events organised by the municipality and the Latvian National Centre of Culture, and also visits neighbouring municipalities, cultural centres and schools with its folklore programmes. They regularly take part in the Latvian Song and Dance Celebration. Since its foundation, the group has participated in all international folklore festivals "Baltica".
